About

The Apple Farm is a 2 hectare property of grapevines and 1,000 apple trees just 6kms south of Mount Gambier. With the onset of spring the property has a serene outlook with apple blossoms and much loved grapevine foliage. By February the Mount Gambier apple season begins lasting until May. By then, the vines start losing their stunning deep red leaves and start carpeting the grounds.

Run by Troy and Kelsie Prowse, The Apple Farm is the picture-perfect place to celebrate with friends and family. With its relaxed atmosphere and comfortable feel – you can watch the kids chase the chooks and kick a ball around while you enjoy company around the fire pit.

Whilst Kelsie’s passion is working with guests to create and style the perfect event for your occasion, Troy is dedicated to the farm and growing seasonal fruits and vegetables for everyone to enjoy. Together they are dedicated to creating a family friendly atmosphere where people can unwind and enjoy their surroundings.

Specialising in private functions, The Apple Farm opens to the public often on Sundays, but not regularly. Usually once or twice a month The Apple Farm Tearooms, transform to its former glory of a café, inviting the public to come and enjoy the atmosphere while snacking on delicious woodfired pizza, homemade sweets, locally roasted coffee and Coonawarra wines. Check out events on our Facebook page to see when you can enjoy the next open day at the farm.

Meet Kelsie

Hi, my name is Kelsie and I run The Apple Farm. My family bought an old run-down establishment in 2014 and in this time, we have transformed it into what it is today. A lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into make this one of the best venues on the Limestone Coast and my husband Troy and I are so proud of what we’ve created.

My background is everything hospitality. Cafes, restaurants, bars, deli’s, comedy clubs, retail, front of house and back of house. I accidently fell into the wedding industry and party planning and I have not looked back since. My 25yr hospitality career gave me all the knowledge and tools I needed to manage all types of events. I love the whole process, from the first meeting to the big day. Understanding how people act in our space is the key to planning an event at The Apple Farm. From catering to the bar, from decorations and set ups, to invites and timelines. We have hosted 100’s of events at The Farm, but what I love the most about the place, is that no matter what, every event is different.

I will make sure that we go above and beyond to ensure that your celebration at The Farm is everything you imagined. I want people to come and love the space as much as we do. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing friends and family coming together to celebrate some of life’s greatest achievements, and I feel humbled and honoured that I get to play an important job of assisting with organising such milestone celebrations.
